ACCIONA to showcase its new composite recycling technology at JEC World 2024
ACCIONA will showcase during the event its patented heat treatment technology for recycling composite materials which positions the company at the forefront of sustainable industrial practices.
During the event, the company will unveil one of the latest lines of research and investigation of its Construction Technology Centre, an innovative heat treatment technology for the recycling of composite materials.
This innovation, developed by ACCIONA, is based on a heat treatment technology designed to recycle composite materials by applying controlled temperature and atmospheric conditions.
Its approach focuses on preserving the properties of the reinforcement fibres, reusing the organic components and transforming the composite materials into secondary raw materials with high added value. These secondary raw materials, with quality comparable to that of virgin raw materials, can then be incorporated into different production processes for manufacturing of new products, thus representing a significant improvement in terms of protecting environment and reducing resource wastage.
Heat treatment technology
This innovation complies with European waste management directives by converting waste into secondary raw materials with myriad of applications in different industries (for e.g. construction, automotive and chemical). Thanks to this process, environmental benefits are highlighted while ensuring the safe processing of waste. Moreover, this holistic approach promotes not only environmental sustainability, but also the efficient reuse of resources in key sectors of industrial production.
