Innovative technology to meet players’ needs.

NF2 TECH (Natural Flax Filtration Technology) has flax fiber inserts in the handle and at 3 and 9 o’clock on the racquet head to dampen vibrations and deliver optimized acoustics with a much softer sound for enhanced feeling at ball impact.

Babolat worked in partnership with Eco-Technilin, a Normandy-based designer and producer of technical Natural fibre reinforcements for composite applications. In this case particularly, the use of Flax fibers in the structure of the tennis racket offered interesting vibration-reducing performance. Incorporating Flax at key stress points of the racket helps to absorb vibration.

“Flax, in addition to reducing vibration, also provides benefits in the way of acoustics. Babolat racquets achieve a sound that is more muffled, which results in a greatly enhance feeling on impact with the ball when compared to the previous model”, said Antoine Bacha, Product Development Engineer at Babolat.

“The micro/meso structure of Flax fibers allows obtaining very interesting vibration absorption of in high performance sport goods. It makes sense when it comes to sports that are constantly subjected to impacts. The use of Flax will help athletes to improve their game and avoid physical injuries due to vibrations” said Dr Guilherme Apolinario Testoni, Development and Technical Sales Engineer at Eco-Technilin.

Carlos Alcaraz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Leylah Fernandez, famous tennis players of Babolat’s new generation team are playing with Babolat Pure Aero racquets.
